Key objective of six sigma project is to establish Y=f(Xs). That is, to understand the root cause/s of a problem so that one can control the root cause/s in order to minimize the problem.

Typically a Six Sigma project goes through a DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) process.
